For me, mirrors almost always have a precise function. Mostly they serve to facilitate shaving, a repetitive and unpleasant procedure. Trivially, car mirrors also have their utility and, as it happens, driving is also unpleasant for me.

Rarely do mirrors impose themselves and force me to dwell on my reflected image. Whenever this happens I experience these moments of accidental self-contemplation as a betrayal, who knows why.
